Convergence and Interactivity

CONVERGENCE

Convergence is the use of any device to watch/listen

For Example
- BBC iPlayer
- ITV Player
- 4OD (4 On Demand)
-Demand 5

1. Youtube because I have access via various device e.g. IPAD, mobile phone and TV or anything connected to the internet.

2. I use it most evenings and weekends.

3. You would use Youtube if wanted to find video examples on how to do anything e.g. How to tie a lace or draw something. You may also use Youtube to watch movie trailers or listen/watch  music videos.

4. I would watch Youtube by using an app on my IPAD/Device or on the channel on my digital TV.

5. Advantages:
- Access when ever you want.
- Access where ever you want.
- Access to a wide variety of educational videos, Music videos and shows.
- Fast and easy video sharing.
- Businesses can advertise the products.
   Disadvantages:
- You need access to the internet.
- Some video may not give the correct information.
- No parental controls.
- Buffering (Loading) can take a long time.
- Viewer have to watch adverts.

INTERACTIVITY

interactivity with a media product for example the red button or voting on live TV

For Example

Viewer can Participate with shows, competitions and voting via emails, tweets and text messages by digital device including TV e.g. RED BUTTON.
