18. Evaluation

Research

To make my advert I first  had to do some research so that my product would sell. The first part of my advert was to watch some drink adverts which are on the TV currently for example the Innocent Smoothie advert. By doing this research I found out what would be the best style to do my advert in for my target audience (people aged 3+) and what my advert should be like .I then went on to research my target audience from this I found that my target audience like bright bold colours and cartoon characters and dislike dark scary adverts as they are young, this gave me the idea to make something that is adventurous and fun so I made the name "GO WILD" up. After i had completed that i then want on to do a survey to further my research, from doing they survey i gathered information about what the public like and dislike.

Planning

My planning consisted of four different pieces of paperwork the first was a idea development. For the idea development me and my partner had to generate ideas on what narrative we would use, what sort of lighting would be used and what sort of environment  we would film it in. We decided on having someone make a smoothie and after drinking it the person would "GO WILD" for are storyline which we then later on changed as our  new idea would fit the target audience better. The new idea was to have two people looking and exploring for a drink in the wild, we believe that this idea was better as it was more bright coloured and energetic which fits a child's lifestyle which makes it more relatable so that people are more likely buy the product. The second piece of work was the three storyboards which we used to make up some ideas for a narrative the three ideas were people in a garden who are tired who then drink a smoothie which gives them energy, the second was people wake up from a sleep and then go down stairs and have a smoothie which give them energy for the day and the final idea was people drink the smoothie and have a hallucination of being in the wild. After we complete that we then went on to do a proposal, the reason for going this was to  share our  ideas we had as a group. The final piece was a location recce this allowed use to find out where we would film and what hazards there are in that enviroment after we had done this we knew where we wanted to film but later on we decide to change it. I think that my chosen idea is the best because it will appeal to my target audience and is better than my other ideas. This idea is best as it displays who my target audience is (kids) and directly aims at them by using the activity of a treasure hunt. The idea of a treasure hunt links to the kids as it is a fun activity.Where as my other ideas didn't show of any of my skills and did not target my target audience at all this would lead to a bad product and reduced sales.
Multiply of my ideas where to do the advert at Connors home was a bad idea as it didn't allow the use of a professional camera. These ideas also had a lot of potential hazards when using the equipment. Another idea was to dress up as wild animals. This idea was also a bad one as it would of cost us more money as well as causing many other potential hazards. Our final idea was close to becoming the chosen idea but it lacked details and would have needed a lot of software to make it come true.

Production

On the production side of our advert we had to look at different shot types we would use during are filming. By using different shot types it would allow use to make the advert more intersting and engaging. We did this by looking at all of the different shot types that there are and decide which would be best for us to use, we chose to use POV (Point Of  View), long shots, mid shots and close ups. later inn when we started to film we ended up adding a high angle shot to give the look of someone climbing up a hill.During are filming we had to do a lot of different things for example get props and equipment together and get actors for the advert. For are equipment we had a camera to film with and a tripod to hold the camera, then for are props we used a home made map which was made by burning a piece of paper with a drawing on it and a bottle from the school canteen with are logo on it which we printed out. Are actors that we used were people from our class as we had no money to buy real actors time, the people we used were Luke and Michael.

Post Production

After collecting/making or advert clips we then had to go and edit them together. we did this by using the software that was on the school macs which was called "Final Cut Express" this allowed us to put are clips together and change the speed of the clips. After i had done that i had to find some music from the internet, i went to youtube.com to find this music and searched adventure music as i throughout it would fit my adverts style very well which was a search for the drink, the music was called "KonisMusic Epic adventure music".When i had completed the editing i then had to make a logo and slogan so me and my partner went online line and looked at some existing logos and slogans so that we knew what sort of thing we should of done.Once we had done that we then went on to draw out some ideas/design. Me and partner ended up deciding to go with the one that would best fit our target audience but we added more to the logo later on and added a nice slogan. The slogan we decided to go with experience the wild because it was fun and reflected are advert while being easy to remember.
